World Christian Weekend
Spear Ministries invites you to come on a World Christian Weekend in New Jersey and New York City to have an exposure to the strategic opportunities to reach Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists.
Visit Muslim mosques, Hindu and Buddhist temples, and large Indian, Muslim, and Chinese communities.
When?
Spear Ministries can arrange this around your group’s schedule. However, weekends are preferable.
Who Can Go?
Anyone from your church or organization you invite. The maximum group size is ten.
Where will we stay?
In a New Jersey motel just across the Hudson River from Manhattan.
What will we do?
1. For the optimal experience, you need to arrive Friday, get into motel rooms, and then meet for orientation and prayer.
2. Your group will go on a walk through a large Muslim-Arab/Turk area of Paterson, NJ and have dinner at a Turkish restaurant.
3. You will observe Muslim prayers at a mosque. It is important to be culturally sensitive. Appropriate information on dress, attitude , and behavior will be provided to you before hand so you come prepared.
4. We will meet together for a debriefing and group prayer.
5. You will return to your motel for personal prayer and rest.
6. You will get up early on Saturday morning to observe idol worship at a Hindu temple.
7. Afterwards, your group will have breakfast at a "bagel joint."
8. Your group will meet for a de-briefing about what's happened so far. The group will then have a time of prayer. Sometimes a "break" is needed as the mosque and temple can affect people. Spiritual warfare is very real.
9. Your group will jump on a train to go to lower Manhattan’s Chinatown to experience a Buddhist temple and lunch.
10. Most groups like to do a tourist thing in New York to visit ground zero, Time Square, Rockefeller Center, etc. Return to motel at the end of the night.
11. On Sunday morning, your group will meet for prayer, worship, debriefing with a discipleship challenge at a park in New Jersey overlooking Manhattan. The formal part of the World Christian Weekend will be finished after the service. You are free to return to NYC on your own if you so desire.

What is the cost?
The costs for a three day, two night World Christian Weekend in non-peek season is $400 a person, single motel room occupancy, or $325 per person, double occupancy. Cost increases proportionately due to increased motel rates during peek seasons. Cost includes lodging, meals, and in-town travel the way the New Yorkers do it.
Each World Christian weekend is customized around your schedule and desires of what people groups you want to see and how much sight seeing and shopping you want to do.
